When using Logitech periprials with Ubuntu you may need to control the mouses paired to their "Unifying Receiver." Thanks to the developer!

Ubuntu 12.04

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:daniel.pavel/solaar
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install solaar

Ubuntu 14.10

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:trebelnik-stefina/solaar
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install solaar
